New Cardiac Monitors Placed In Service:
Anderson County EMS has recently purchased and placed into service new Zoll E-Series cardiac monitors. The new monitors are replacing current equipment which had become obsolete, requiring updates and improvements. The Zoll E-Series were ordered and delivered with a full range or features in a continued effort to deliver the best prehospital care available. Some of the features include: Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Monitoring, 12-Lead EKG Monitoring, Pulse Oximetry, Sidestream ETCO2 Monitoring, and Rectilinear Biphasic Defibrillation.
With the addition of Sidestream End-Tidal CO2 Monitoring, our paramedics now have the capability to assess ETCO2 levels in intubated and non-intubated patients. Because capnography monitors a patient on a "breath-by-breath" basis, paramedics may be able to identify worsening trends in a patients respiratory status much earlier than ever before. Additionally, for the intubated patient, Capnography is often considered the "gold standard" for verification of endotracheal tube placement. The E-Series also uses a GPS system to synchronize the date and time ensuring accurate documentation of events. In addition to this, built in Bluetooth capability offers a quick and reliable method of wireless data and 12-Lead transmission.
