Division of Fleet Management:
Peter Sexton
Assistant Chief, Fleet Manager
The Division of Fleet Management is imperative in our day to day operations. Anderson County Emergency Medical Services operates a total of nineteen units, eleven operational with eight back up units, along with a training unit and supply unit. Shift supervisors also operate out of a ford expedition 24 hours per day. Our units regularly undergo preventive maintenance and inspection to ensure the safest possible operation. In addition, two full time mechanics are on duty to perform emergency repairs along with preventive maintenance the system requires. These mechanics operate out of a central county garage area that is well equipped to provide most mechanical needs. Not only is fleet management responsible for maintaining our units mechanical status, they also are charged with coordinating such things as: radio installation / repair / programming, unit lettering, and certain equipment inspection and repair. Anderson County Emergency Medical Services also maintains a contengency plan in the event several units must be placed out of service or mutual aid is requested. It is the duty of fleet management to maintain and implement this plan if needed.
