Charlie Williams named 2008 EMT of the year...

Anderson County EMT-IV Charlie Williams has been named the Tennessee Region Two Directors Association EMT of the year, as voted by the directors of Region Two.

Williams currently dedicates service to both Anderson and Morgan Counties for 48 of every 72 hours, a duel post he has held for over 15 years. "Charlie has found his true calling as a dedicated EMS professional," said Robert Byrd, Director of Anderson County Emergency Services. "He has touched the lives of so many and has always been an integral part of our service in Anderson County. I really can not think of a more deserving emergency medical technician."

Morgan County EMS Director Larry Potter presented the award to Williams at the annual Region Two EMS Directors Association Conference held recently in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. "Charlie's dedication and loyalty can not be compared with anyone," Potter added. "I consider Morgan County to be fortunate to have such a dedicated employee." The Tennessee Region Two EMS Directors Association is composed of EMS agencies located throughout East Tennessee. Various EMS Directors throughout the region nominate and select an EMT-IV and Paramedic of the year annually. Williams currently serves Anderson County Medic # 4, servicing the Oliver Springs area.
