Chaplain Receives Directors Presidential Award

Chaplain Darrell Cook received the Region II EMS Directors’ Presidential Award. The award is presented each year to a person selected by the president of The Association. The recipient is selected at large from the Region based on outstanding support of the EMS community.

Chaplain Cook retired at the rank of Lt. Col from the Air Force where he had served as a chaplain for twenty four and a half years. He currently serves as the chaplain for Anderson County EMS and assists the Region II Directors when needed.

He was cited for his contribution in the area of crisis intervention throughout the region. His efforts have assisted many emergency workers deal with the situations they face in their jobs. In his role as chaplain he has provided grief counseling and has assisted several region services at a time of loss of life as they provided honors.
