Darrell Cook (U.S. Air Force, Lt Col, ret) serves as the chaplain for Anderson County Emergency Services. The chaplain serves as a spiritual and emotional support for Anderson County Emergency Services personnel and the patients they contact. Besides making contact and visiting with crews, he also responds to emergency dispatches as requested. On scene he provides valuable assistance with distressed family members. Chaplain Cook is a trained Crisis Response Team member. As a CRT member he provides post crisis response designed to minimize the stress reactions from the highly stressful experiences in emergency services. As an ordained minister, Chaplain Cook can also perform the rite of the church.

While he works primarily with Anderson County Emergency Services, Chaplain Cook also serves many other roles within the region. He is the Co-founder and current President of the Tennessee Emergency Services Chaplains' Association. He is currently serving as the chaplain for the Region II EMS Directors Association along with the Anderson County Volunteer Rescue Squad as well.
